Cathy Lawrie was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2014 and as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia the following year. Cathy is a member of the Law Society and a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Cathy is on the Legal Aid Commission of New South Wales Family Law Panel providing private legal representation.
Since her admission, Cathy has represented clients in the Family Court of Australia, Sydney and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in Sydney, Parramatta, Canberra and Wagga Wagga in family law matters, including parenting, property (married and de facto), AVO’s, financial and parenting agreements, enforcement proceedings and alternate dispute resolution. Cathy has also provided legal representation in criminal matters in Sydney and regional Local Courts and conducting criminal trials in the District Court of NSW.
Cathy is an accredited mediator under the Australian National Mediator Standard and an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) registered with the Attorney General’s Department.
Cathy is a mother of 3 children and has experience in navigating family breakdown and the difficulties and challenges for all family members that can follow. She brings with her patience, care and understanding from different perspectives through her mediation, community and legal work.
